What Client Needed
Client integrated base stations manually through script execution and manual result checking. The client needed a way to automate the workflow, complete with execution, reporting, error checking and all what-if scenarios.
The client also needed to change the configuration on tens of thousands of base stations in Radio Network (RAN). This was done in semi-automated, manually scripted fashion. The client wanted a way to automate this work, including doing the work from several machines, with load balancing.
What We Did
We created a platform for task execution that:
- Fully automates man-machine communication by transferring all logic from operating manuals into executable scripts;
- Can be used for remote sensing readouts, telecom nodes commissioning, integration, reconfiguration, large scale parallel SW upgrades on thousands of computers in parallel;
- Communicates through series of pre-built connectors (command line interfaces, web browsers, and much more). Easy to build new connectors;
- Scales – it can be run from an Android stick, a laptop or several servers.
How Did Client Benefit
For single base station integration, IMP substituted an hour long manual process with a one-click effort where an engineer can integrate multiple base stations in parallel.
When implementing across tens of thousands of nodes, wanted changes submitted to IMP are queued, distributed, and executed in parallel on several servers, with load balancing. The results are analysed and reported to the user.
